Organic Market Closing

This store, right near the Windsor building, gave it a go for a few years. But I guess between Natural and the new Farmer's Market it just couldn't make it. I liked their freshly-made sandwiches, way in the back. But I noticed their shelves were thinning out in recent months...

    gtfoh. damn. they made great spinach pies and fish lunch specials. i wonder if the competition from the farmers market is to blame.

    I JUST went there yesterday for the first time and got an awesome Tilapia platter. I was curious why the shelves were so empty. What a shame, it had potential. Not sure why people didnt take advantage of the healthy options. They were a little pricey so I guess I understand :p

    my wife shopped there sometimes. i thought it was OK but didn't carry alot of stuff. went to buy Naked Juice one time and they only had the small bottles for $5 each or so

    Location can be best used for something else.

    Not against organic food but they seem better suited to the bigger markets. Organic Forever also failed.

    Chipotle is under construction. Will take some time. But they did get permitted successfully.

    CVS on the North side did NOT get permitted successfully so the location will be vacant.

      Why did they start such major construction if there is nothing lined up? Do you know if the construction is halted as a result?

    They are probably trying to get repermitted for CVS and will file new plans.

    Two pieces of land have had no development because of permitting issues.

    I agree with FeeFee. Nice store, but with the exception of the fresh food/deli counter, the products they carried for the most part were the same products you can find at The Natural.

    My personal feeling is that this neighborhood can (1) support an organic store, but the store-owners need to do some research and provide shelf/freezer/refrigerated product not offered elsewhere; (2) I also believe the neighborhood could support an organic take-out place. This particular store missed the boat on point 1 and the location was way too large (and would be the rent) for point 2.
